Sgt. Obriona Brown, a signal support operations specialist from Mississippi, is assigned to Headquarters Company, 185th Aviation Brigade, Mississippi Army National Guard. She is currently stationed at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.
Brown said her parents, aunt, and grandfather all served in the military and greatly impacted her life.
“[They] loved every minute of it, and I decided to follow in their footsteps,” said Brown. “I have been in for five years now and loved every bit. The Army has been very good to me.”
Brown said she chose her military occupational specialty because she enjoyed information technology but wanted to work outside of the typical office setting. In her personal time, she focuses on self-improvement through exercising and reading.
