Lt. Col. Ryan Pevey, commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Honolulu District, presents Spc. Carla Rivas an Army Achievement Medal during a ceremony Aug. 30 at the Haggai Institute in Kihei, Hawai’i. Rivas was one of several soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division to earn the award for his support on Maui to help maintain the flow of fuel to generators critical for providing water and power to wildfire-stricken areas of Lahaina.
