U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268 (VMM-268), Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing prepare to deploy sensor buoys from an MV-22 Osprey aircraft at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Aug. 16, 2023. The sensor floats provide real-time data to help study hurricanes and increase naval knowledge of the ocean battlespace, including littoral areas which are crucial to expeditionary and amphibious operations.
