KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 16, 2023) Nora Carden, manager of administrative operations with the Department of Defense Marrow Donor Program (also known as Salute to Life) helps a volunteer provide a sample for the Bone Marrow Registry at the 2023 Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS). MHSRS is the DoD's premier scientific meeting that focuses specifically on the unique medical needs of the Warfighter. This annual educational symposium brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, and DoD leaders for four days of critical learning, intensive idea sharing, and relationship building. Salute to Life, composed of four partner organizations (Naval Medical Research Command, Georgetown University, the National Marrow Donor Program and the Radiation Injury Treatment Network), develops scientific and technological advances to support those injured by radiation, toxic substances and other disasters.
