SENDAI, Japan (MAY 29, 2023) – USS Shoup arrives in Sendai, Japan. Shoup's arrival marks the first United States Naval vessel to visit Sendai in over a decade. Shoup is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s Principal surface force.
