MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Aug. 9, 2023) F/A-18Es from VFA-31 "Tomcatters" and VFA-87 "Golden Warriors" intercept and escort a P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, assigned to the "Golden Swordsmen" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 47, as part of the multinational exercise, Sage Wolverine, 9 August, 2023. Forces from Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 and the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group are conducting the Sage Wolverine series of high-end maritime training events in the central Mediterranean Sea to increase NATO interoperability and promote regional peace and stability.
