Patience Ferguson, who spent 10-weeks with the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton as an intern through the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program, gave a presentation on her research and experiences to NAMRU Dayton leaders on July 21. Ms. Ferguson generated a review centered on military exposures and the onset of autoimmune diseases, specifically lupus. She returns to South Carolina State University where she will begin her junior year towards a degree in Chemistry.
