A volunteer shores up the American flag during a relief operation in New Jersey launched by the Crystal Coast, N.C., chapter of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, which combined the expertise of military and emergency-response volunteers to lend aid to the victims of Hurricane Sandy in November 2012. The team of volunteers passed through several devastated communities as they delivered food collected in North Carolina and more than $1,000 dollars raised independently by the Marines of 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group.
