Two E-2C/D Hawkeye aircraft from Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) 120, stationed aboard Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia, completed a flyover of the 2023 National Jamboree, held in Glen Jean, West Virginia, on July 26, 2023. More than 15,000 Scouts from around the United States and multiple foreign nations participated in the event hosted on the 14,000-acre Summit Bechtel Reserve located adjacent to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in Southern West Virginia. Two crewmembers manning the flyover were both former Boy Scouts; Pilot CDR Christopher “Swanny” Swanson of Alden, New York, an Eagle Scout with Troop 117 in Alden, NY (1994), and Co-Pilot LCDR Brendan “Keystone” Geraghty of Orinda, California, an Eagle Scout with Troop 249 in Morage, CA (2004).
