Kelly Englert, Southwest Division Civilian Human Resources Center, human resources specialist, talks about the recruitment process with 36 Galveston District supervisors as part of Supervisor University at the Jadwin Building, July 19, 2023. Supervisor Univ. is a 2-day training course designed to keep our supervisors’ skills sharp with respect to recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and retaining a high caliber workforce. Topics included the Hiring Process, Use of Incentives, Position Classification, Dealing with Employee Conduct and Performance Issues, Data Analytics (People), Telework, Workplace Flexibilities (remote work, flexible work schedules, telework), and Reasonable Accommodation. The Galveston District Human Capital section conducted the first session in April with 40 supervisors attending, and the July session had 32 attendees.
