Pacific Vanguard represented an opportunity for the Indo-Pacific navies of Australia, Japan, Republic of Korea and United States to strengthen their skills in maritime operations, anti-submarine operations and anti-warfare operations, live-fire missile events, and advanced maneuvering scenarios in the Mariana Island Range Complex (MIRC).
