U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Gabriel San Pedro, a short term individual augmentee (STIA) individual provider with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Warren Rhine, a STIA medic with DPAA, set up a medical tent during a DPAA recovery operation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, June 17, 2023. On-site medics offer urgent medical assistance to other recovery team members while out in the field and far away from urgent medical care. There remain 1,244 Americans unaccounted-for in Vietnam.
