KIEL, GERMANY (JUN 15 2023) A U.S. Marine with Golf Company, 2d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, A British Royal Marine with 45 Commando, and a Royal Navy Sailor with HMS Albion, man the rails while pulling into port during exercise Baltic Operations 2023 (BALTOPS 23) in Kiel, Germany, June 15, 2023. BALTOPS 23 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic region. The exercise led by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and executed by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen the combined response capability critical to preserving the freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
