Soldiers work on improving the road surface inside the Salang Tunnel during Operation Mountain Blade in Parwan province, Afghanistan, recently. The operation, conducted by engineering elements of Joint Task Force Empire, improved the road surface of the pass in preparation for winter. The engineers worked primarily at night due to the large amount of vehicles using the roadway every day.
