Vice Adm. Kevin Cosgriff, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet, delivers the opening remarks on the first day of the Maritime Infrastructure Protection Symposium (MIPS), Feb. 26 in Manama, Bahrain. Speakers addressed threats to maritime infrastructure and ways to detect attacks in the Arabian Gulf. The three-day symposium is designed to improve the defense and crisis response of partner, coalition and infrastructure-related organizations.
