SAN DIEGO (June 15, 2023) USS Boxer (LHD 4) Communications Officer Chief Warrant Officer 2 Tyler Smith displays a card sent to Radioman 3rd Class Richard Gurnett from a Sailor on board USS Boxer (CV-21) during the Korean War. His son, Scott Gurnett, donated the card to Boxer’s Radio Division, wanting the artifact returned to its namesake. Boxer is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship homeported in San Diego.
