Cadets from the U.S. Air Force Academy tour the new dormitory and lodging facility construction sites during a visit with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Natural Disaster Recovery Division at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, on June 1, 2023.
The eight cadets, juniors majoring in civil engineering, toured the new dormitory and lodging facilities construction sites to gain insight into the extensive planning and construction efforts that go into rebuilding the Installation of the Future, including how the facilities are being constructed with steel and concrete reinforcements to withstand Category 5 hurricane sustained winds, as well as other materials being used to make the facilities more resilient and energy efficient.
