Staff Sgt. Bikram Shretha and Sgt. Daniel Driver, prime power specialists assigned to the 249th Engineer Battalion, review a list of generators ready for installation following Typhoon Mawar May 29 at the FEMA Distribution Center on Guam. A Company was deployed to Guam three days before Typhoon Mawar to prepare generators for recovery operations. Prime Power Specialists along with the Temporary Emergency Power Planning and Response Team from Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are deployed to Guam in support of Typhoon Mawar recovery efforts. The team is conducting electrical assessments of critical facilities such as hospitals, shelters, and water treatment plants. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers received FEMA mission assignments for regional activation, temporary emergency power, temporary roofing planning, and debris management support.
