Team SFL crisscrossed the Midwest in April and May 2023 attending events and making connections to benefit our military and veteran communities. SFC Olajide Gamu started out in Milwaukee meeting with Wisconsin Civilian Aides to the Secretary of the Army(Marcia Anderson and senior leaders from the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion- Milwaukee to talk about Army recruiting, SFL’s mission, and how we can collaborate on our related goals. Next up was St. Louis, where SFL Gamu connected with CASA Edmund Beckette to discuss upcoming events in Missouri important to the military and veteran communities, including several related to the Army’s 248th birthday in June. SFC Gamu’s last stop was Nebraska, where he attended a fantastic Meet Your Army event with Nebraska’s Recruiting Battalion. He also had the opportunity to connect with the Denver Army Recruiting Commander and Command Sergeant Major, Nebraska Army Reserve Ambassador Nelson Ildefonso-Cruz, and U.S. Army PaYS Marketing Analyst Travis Carter.
