Sumberwaru, Indonesia (Dec. 14, 2022) - U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Ahmed Nur (left), an electrician, and U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jonathan Fontana, a combat engineer, both with Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, receive instruction from Indonesian Korps Marinir during an Engineer Capability Exercise, Dec. 14, 2022. Forward-deployed, rapid-response, and integrated Navy and Marine Corps capabilities expand the options the Navy-Marine Corps team provides joint-force commanders. Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Indonesia is a bilateral exercise between Indonesia and the United States designed to promote regional security cooperation, maintain and strengthen maritime partnerships, and enhance maritime interoperability.
