SAN DIEGO (May 18, 2023) Capt. Amy N. Bauernschmidt, former commanding officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), is piped ashore during a change of command ceremony. During the ceremony, Capt. Peter J. Riebe relieved Capt. Amy N. Bauernschmidt as Abraham Lincoln’s commanding officer. Abraham Lincoln is currently moored pierside at Naval Air Station North Island.
