The Aviation Survival Training Center (ASTC)-Pensacola leadership pose for a photo after a dress whites inspection in the parachute landing training pavillion in onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, April 17. Dress whites inspections are performed during the seasonal transitions in uniform to ensure that all Sailors conform to the Navy's uniform regulations. ASTC Pensacola is one of eight ASTC training facilities that are encompassed by the Naval Aviation Survival Training Institute (NSTI). NSTI, a detachment of NMOTC, specializes in training the pilots, aircrew, and service members who support other specialized communities in survival skills and technique to survive aviation emergencies. Students and service members who complete training and courses will be equipped, with an understanding of stressors placed on the body, the rigors of egress and techniques for survival in situations of hostile and austere environments. Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) is comprised of six nationwide detachments that offer specialized medical training in the fields of aviation, aviation survival, surface and undersea warfare, expeditionary and special operations medicine.
