A sailor assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 2 connects two 3-inch dewatering hoses in preparation of removing water from the lower levels of the World Trade Center in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New York City. MDSU-2 is operating under the U.S. Northern Command Defense Support of Civil Authorities mission, working closely with state officials and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in disaster response.
