Sapp was inducted as a Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Fellow during a March 23 ceremony in Maryland, in recognition of his work within NAVAIR and with other branches of service, equipment manufacturers, professional organizations and mentees. NAVAIR Fellows represent the top 0.75% or scientists and engineers within the NAVAIR enterprise. Sapp’s drawings of repairs are coveted items among his mentees, who come to him for guidance in making repairs that aren’t covered in the technical manuals.
