An MV-22B Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 268, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing flyies a trans-pacific flight set to land at the Subic Bay International Airport, Philippines during Balikatan 23 on April 05, 2023. The squadron completed a trans-pacific flight from Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. This marks the first time an MV-22B Osprey has ever completed this flight, traveling a distance of 5,340 nautical miles in 22.7 flight hours. Balikatan 23 is the 38th iteration of the annual bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military. The exercise includes three weeks of training focused on amphibious operations, command and control, humanitarian assistance, urban operations and counterterrorism skills throughout northern and western Luzon.
