Ross, new commanding officer of USS Oregon (SSN 793) during change-of-command ceremony in Groton, Connecticut, Apr. 14, 2023. Ross relieved Cmdr. Lacy N. Lodmell during the ceremony. The Virginia-class Oregon operates under Submarine Squadron (SUBRON) FOUR, whose primary mission is to provide fast-attack submarines that are ready, willing, and able to meet the unique challenges of undersea combat and deployed operations in unforgiving environments across the globe.
