As a part of North American Aerospace Defense Command's (NORAD) Exercise Vigilant Shield, NORAD F-15Cs take-off from the Fresno Air National Guard base in support of the exercise, on April 12, 2023. The Continental U.S. NORAD Region coordinated the launch of the NORAD aircraft from the California Air National Guard's 144th Fighter Wing to exercise maneuver operations designed to ensure the defense and security of North America. Vigilant Shield is a bi-national exercise between the United States and Canada designed to assess and enhance the readiness of NORAD, and U.S. Northern Command, its components and mission partners to defend North America from attack (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt.
