230320-N-NO819-1003 PALAWAN, Philippines (March 20, 2023) – Engineering Aide 3rd Class Kaelah Laurent (right), Builder Constructionman Trenton Chafellagozzino (center), both Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, and Cpl. Kyle Tennison, a U.S. Marine assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, place concrete masonry unit blocks March 20. NMCB-5 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States territories to support and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. As the stand-in, crisis response, naval engineering force, NMCB-5 maintains a ready posture to deliver in-theater expeditionary logistics via expeditionary shore infrastructure, forward damage repair, and mobile construction.
