U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Hope McQuitty, is an intelligence surveillance reconnaissance systems (ISR) engineer with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Task Force 76/3.
“I grew up in a large family with eight brothers, and I think that prepared me for the Marine Corps life,” said McQuitty. “But I didn’t realize how much of a family the Marine Corps really is until I got to the MEB. Everyone goes out of their way to support and mentor each other, and I feel like I’ve grown a lot in my short time here. Since moving to Okinawa, I had my first child six months ago, and it’s a struggle trying to balance life and work, especially as a Marine and a mom. But with the support from my leadership and family, it’s becoming easier and easier. And Okinawa is absolutely beautiful. Everything from the culture and the people to the tropical island itself.
“I love it out here and I love what I do. Being in this integrated task force really helped me see the big picture, and how I contribute to it as an ISR systems engineer. Everything I do ensures that the intelligence networks and systems run smoothly so analysts can do their job and help the commander’s decision-making capability.”
