John Aguilar, G6 operations chief, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), discusses information during the SETAF-AF joint task force validation and command post exercise on Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy on Mar. 16, 2023. 2023. The JTF validation and command post exercise allows U.S. Africa Command to assess the capability of SETAF-AF to establish, organize and operate as a JTF headquarters. Service members and civilian personnel from U.S. Africa Command's service components join U.S. Transportation Command’s Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard units, and other inter-agency organizations to set-up and operate a joint task force headquarters during the validation exercise as part of African Lion 2023.
