A U.S. Navy MH-60 Seahawk with helicopter sea combat squadron 25, with the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6) approaches for landing on the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD-48) during flight operations off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Mar. 5, 2023. The Seahawk did multiple touch and go drills in preparation for a search and rescue exercise. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
