    Seaman Aly Nagel, a member of deck department aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Alert, a 210-foot Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Astoria, Ore., studies helm and lookout watchstander materials on the ship's bridge while underway in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 25, 2012. Alert is the first 210-foot Coast Guard Cutter to have a mixed-gender enlisted workforce.
