U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Francis Santore, an instructor with Expeditionary Operations Training Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, fires an M-27 rifle outfitted with the newly issued Reconnaissance Weapons Kit (RWK) during a live-fire exercise aboard Stone Bay, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Feb. 23, 2023. Close Quarters Tactics Instructor Sustainment Training is an opportunity for the EOTG Special Tactics Branch to familiarize themselves with the RWK which consists of an M-27 lower receiver with both a 10.9-inch and 16-inch upper receiver, allowing for one weapon system to facilitate multiple mission sets.
EOTG will incorporate the RWK into current and future courses of instruction, as they continue to ensure that the Marines and sailors of the 26 MEU, in partnership with their Navy teammates, will be ready to serve as a formidable deterrent operating from the sea, capable of conducting missions across the full range of military operations.
