Marne Lanes Bowling Center lead mechanic, George Kessner, repairs a vice that holds bowling pins in place, Feb. 15 at Marne Lanes on FOrt Stewart, Georgia. Recently the bowling center was inspected by the United States Bowling Congress, the national governing body of bowling that is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. The elements that are assessed are more scientific than the facilities’ aesthetic or snack bar options. Instead, the USBC focuses on the technical elements of a facility that ensure an equal playing field for league bowlers. A passing score allows bowling centers to maintain sanctioned bowling games and leagues within the facility.
