DPAA medical outreach missions often involve training local healthcare professionals, which helps transfer knowledge and build capacity within the host nation. Through these efforts, the relationship between the organization and the host nation is strengthened, promoting a positive image and long-term cooperation in humanitarian assistance.
Since 1985 the United States and Lao governments have worked closely together to find and recover unaccounted-for American service members. There are still 286 missing Americans in Laos from the Vietnam War. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. David Owsianka)
