U.S. Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 167 fly an AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom over Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, Jan. 23, 2023. HMLA-167 trained to increase proficiency during a unit-level deployment for training (DFT). The purpose of the DFT was to increase the squadron’s proficiency in expeditionary close-air support, shore-based operations, and defensive-air maneuvering.
