Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno (left), a New Jersey native, who serves as commanding general for III Corps and Multi-National Corps Iraq, greets Lt. Col. Michael Pappal (center), an Indiana, Pa., native, and Command Sgt. Maj. John Kurak (right), a Washington native, who serve, respectively, as the commander and senior enlisted leader of the 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division Baghdad, as he walks off the helipad at Joint Security Station-Istaqlal. While at the JSS, Odierno was briefed on the operations and intelligence in Husseiniya, an area north of Baghdad. Before flying back to Camp Victory, Odierno and MNC-I Soldiers who flew with him traveled with the Striker Soldiers to see Sheik Mohan Sager Al-Fayadh, the council chairman for the district of Istaqlal.
