From their corps beginning, August 4, 1947, to present day, the 251 initial plank owners serving in four specialties of supply and administration, allied sciences, optometry, and pharmacy have vastly expanded their expertise, capabilities, not to mention their holiday season greetings. There are nearly 3,800 active duty and reserve MSC officers – with approximately 35 assigned to NHB/NMRTC Bremerton - fulfilling duty and responsibilities in 31 specialties, each specialty indispensable in helping providing patient-centered care, as well as ensuring their service before self efforts continue long after the holidays (official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).
