    Commander, Navy Recruiting Command

    NCCM (AW/SW) Tony Dyer is a native of Saginaw, MI., and graduated from Eudora High School class of ’92 and The Ohio State University ‘02. He entered the Navy in January 1994 and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL. Following recruit training, Master Chief Dyer reported to Fire Controller (FC) “A” School at Great Lakes, IL. His first assignment was aboard the USS Wasp LHD-1, during that assignment he converted to Aviation Boatswains Mate Fuels (ABF).

    In Nov. 1998, Master Chief Dyer reported to ENRO in Pensacola, Fla., for recruiting school for his assignment to NRD Ohio. In January 1999, he reported to NRS Columbus West, OH. In November 1999, was awarded Rookie Recruiter of the Year, and he was awarded Recruiter of the Year for FY 2000.

    In April 2001, he reported to the USS IWO-Jima LHD-7 were he had the honor of being a plank owner. After a successful tour as LPO, at sea Master Chief Dyer transferred to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes IL in May of 2003. As a Recruit Division Commander, he successfully trained and graduated
    10 division, of which three were ‘Hall of fame’ and four “CNO” and two “Battle E”. Because of his success, was hand selected from hundreds of RDC’s to become a member of the RTC’s Fleet Training Team (FTT).

    In November 2006, returned to recruiting and reported to the Navy Recruiting District Richmond where he served as the LCPO for NRS Norfolk, after a six-year absence from recruiting Master Chief Dyer quickly asserted himself and his sailors won “Large Station of the Year” FY06. He soon became a Zone Supervisor/DLCPO. As a DLCPO, he was responsible for the turnaround of two difficult divisions in NRD Richmond.

    In July 2010, he reported to Navy Recruiting Command where he served on the National Training and Inspection Team (N7). After obtaining his Assistant Chief Recruiter (ACR) qualification in April of 2011, he reported to NRD Atlanta as the ACR in August of 2012. In November 2015, he reported to Navy Recruiting Command Region East as the Region EACR December 2016.

    Master Chief reported as the Chief Recruiter to NRD Raleigh. During his time as the Chief Recruiter of NRD Raleigh they lead the nation in contract attainment for 23 consecutive months while meeting every mission requirements. In Aug 2018, Master Chief Dyer reported to Navy Recruiting Region East as the Chief Recruiter. In September 2021 Master Chief reported to Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit as the Chief Recruiter.

    His personal awards included the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Marine Corps Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
