Lt. Col. Steven Veinotte, a chaplain with the New Hampshire Army National Guard since 2003, is celebrated by family, friends, and colleagues during his retirement ceremony Sept. 11 at Joint Force Headquarters in Concord.
Veinotte was a revered spiritual advisor and counselor who oversaw more than 100 military funerals and memorial events, 12 honorable transfers, 27 casualty notifications, and 18 weddings. He ran Strong Bonds retreats for military families that served more than 300 people.
From 2010 to 2011, Veinotte served as brigade chaplain for the 197th Fires Brigade during Operation New Dawn in Kuwait. During the deployment, he penned a popular inspirational column called "A Glass Of Veinotte."
