PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 13, 2022) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Tri Nguyen, from Oklahoma City, operates a 5-inch gun from the combat information center (CIC) aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) during a live-fire gunnery exercise, part of Keen Sword in the Philippine Sea, Nov. 13. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad Japan-U.S. alliance.
