(Right) U.S Army Lt. Col. Fernando Franco, assigned to U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), hands an Expert Infantry Badge to a qualifying Spanish army soldier on Caserma Del-Din, Vicenza, Italy, Nov. 9, 2022. Soldiers across Europe attempted qualification for one of three "expert" badges the first week of November -- the Expert Infantry Badge, the Expert Field Medical Badge and the Expert Soldiers Badge. The combined qualification event for all three badges, called "E3B," tested a Soldiers proficiency at essential Warrior Tasks, Skills and Battle Drills. This is the first E3B hosted at U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) with competitors from 173rd Airborne Brigade, 509th Strategic Signal Battalion, U.S. Special Operations Command Africa, units from U.S. Army Europe and Africa Command and service members from Spain, Croatia and Italy.
