Bushmaster 30 mm chain gun casings eject into storage bags during the 17th Special Operations Squadron live fire training as part of exercise Keen Sword 23 over Draughon Range, Nov. 10, 2022. The 17th SOS, assigned to the 27th Special Operations Wing, Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., conducted the first AC-130J live fire exercise in Japan with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Through these exchanges, we improve our ability to work together and build our collective strength. These training events enhance security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific by supporting allied/partner requests for assistance in countering terrorism and provide military-to-military engagements with realistic multi-national exchanges.
