U.S; Air Force Master Sgt. Matthew Newman, 514th Aeromedical Staging Squadron respiratory therapist, is awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with combat device by Gen. Minihan, Air Mobility Command commander, on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Nov. 1, 2022. The Distinguished Flying Cross with "C" Device is one of the highest awards for exceptionally meritorious achievement and is awarded for heroism while participating in aerial flight under combat conditions.
