The KSU team collected samples of splinter-sized invertebrates from the creek, to assess the current health and density of the river’s aquatic population, before beginning modifications to the creek’s shoreline as part of their erosion control study. The study is being conducted over the next several months at several rivers and creeks across Kansas, including McConnell Creek.
