U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Samuel Jarret, an infantryman with 3d Littoral Combat Team, 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division, travels in an MV-22B Osprey attached to Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, as part of exercise Bougainville II at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Oct. 25, 2022. A company with 3d Littoral Combat team secured an expeditionary advanced base at Dillingham Airfield in order to enable early warning of air and missile threats. Bougainville II is a field exercise that allows the MLR and its subordinate units to conduct expeditionary advanced base operations across the island of Oahu.
