U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Matthew Maloney is a Martial Arts Instructor (MAI) assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. As an MAI, he is responsible for training, mentoring, and leading students through a challenging curriculum that includes physical and mental fitness, moral development, and hand-to-hand combat.
Maloney, from St. Louis, Missouri, was the honor graduate of his Martial Arts Instructor Course. He is driven by the pursuit of perfection.
"I take pride in being a Marine others look up to as they take part in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program," said Maloney. "The Marine Corps is a warfighting organization and MCMAP is a great way for Marines to learn about what it means to be an honorable and courageous warrior." he said.
