The Artillery Half Section, Fort Sill’s equine special ceremony unit, is part of most change of command ceremonies on the Old Post Quadrangle. Section chief Lara Armstrong rides Vangel, Capt. John Trainor carries the guidon on Rossi, Sgt. Devin Dew is on McKiernan behind Armstrong, and Spc. Alexis Raymond is behind Trainor on Ott at the Marine Detachment change of command ceremony April 14, 2022. The horses are all named after former commanding generals of Fort Sill.
