U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Zackary L. Dahl, Recruiting Station Charlotte operations officer, 6th Marine Corps District, receives the Bronze Star for his efforts during the evacuation of Afghanistan at the Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina, Oct. 5, 2022. Dahl was recognized for his meritorious service as the Air Support Element (ASE) Officer in Charge, Marine Air Control Group-28 Detachment (MACG-28), Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162 Reinforced, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24 MEU), in support of the Afghanistan Non-combatant Evacuation for Operation Freedom's Sentinel, from Aug. 13-29.
