The Range Operation Center at Fort Drum is named after Maj. Gen. Lloyd E. Jones, a World War I veteran and first commander of the 10th Mountain Division. Jones oversaw the specialized training of the newly formed mountaineer unit and prepared the Soldiers for combat during World War II. (Graphic by Mike Strasser, Fort Drum Garrison Public Affairs)
